Hey there! Big news out of Las Vegas! GENYOUth, a nonprofit group that helps kids stay healthy and active, just finished up their big Super School Meals Super Bowl LVIII project. They've been working hard for the past five months, teaming up with folks like the Clark County School District and the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee.
What's this project all about? Well, GENYOUth has been giving out grants to over 58 schools in Nevada. These grants help schools get cool stuff like mobile meal carts and milk coolers. That means more kids can get yummy and healthy food at school, which is awesome!
Today, there was a big celebration at West Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas. NFL Legends Rashad Jennings and Morlon Greenwood were there, along with lots of other important people. They were all cheering on the Super School Meals project and how it's helping kids in Nevada get the food they need.
GENYOUth isn't stopping there, though. On February 10th, they're hosting an event called Taste of the NFL. It's all about food and fun, and the money they raise will go to help even more schools across the country.
Why is this so important? Well, did you know that one out of every five kids in Nevada doesn't have enough food? And across the whole country, over 30 million kids count on school meals to fill their bellies every day. That's a lot of hungry tummies!
Ann Marie Krautheim, the CEO of GENYOUth, says that programs like Super School Meals are super important. They help make sure that kids don't go hungry and that they have the energy to learn and play.
Lots of other folks are jumping in to help, too. Companies like Frito-Lay, Quaker, and PepsiCo are giving their support. They know how crucial it is for kids to have good food to eat.
The Dairy Council of Nevada is also lending a hand. They're all about making sure kids have access to nutritious dairy products, like milk and cheese.
And let's not forget the Las Vegas Super Bowl Host Committee. They're proud supporters of the Super School Meals project, making sure that kids in their city get the help they need.
Former NFL player Morlon Greenwood knows firsthand how important it is for kids to have access to healthy food. That's why he's lending his voice to support projects like this.
If you want to learn more about Super School Meals or help out, you can visit GENYOUth's website. They're always looking for more people to join their mission of ending student hunger.
And hey, if you're in Las Vegas on February 10th, why not stop by Taste of the NFL? It's sure to be a tasty time, and you'll be helping out a good cause.
So let's give a big shoutout to GENYOUth and all their partners for making sure that no kid goes hungry. Keep up the great work, everyone!
